Rhodes Airport
On Arrival at Rhodes Airport you will be greeted by all the tour operators and taxi drivers waiting for you. If you have booked your own transportation and are not looking to use the tour operator's transfer please make sure you advise the holiday rep as your leaving the airport.
Mobile Phones
When you arrive in Rhodes be very careful when you first turn your phone back on. As Rhodes is very close to Turkey you might pick up the Turkish network and your mobile phone operator will have a charge for this.
Check with your mobile operator if you have roaming. If not you can use the FREE WIFI at the airport. Once you are outside the airport it will be find for you to turn on your mobile data if your mobile phone operator gives you a roaming allowance.
Car rentals
You will find as you collect your bags and walk out the exit doors to the baggage claim area that all the car rental companies will be behind their booth or standing waiting for you with your name on a board. If you have booked your car hire with a local company from Pefkos they should have given you details on how to find your car and normally this is in the car park opposite the airport as you leave the exit. This is the main car park for any visitors for the airport.
Departing Rhodes
When departing Pefkos to head to Rhodes Airport. Please make sure you are aware of your pick up times which should have been given to you a day before your due to travel home. If you are not using the transfer back to the airport please make sure you tell your tour operator and also your hotels reception if you have one.
If you are making your own way to the airport please make sure you leave with plenty of time to travel up the island and to make sure you have parked any car rentals in the correct location.
Once at the airport you will find in the departure check in area they have toilets, canteen and an outside smoking area. There is no smoking area once you are through security.
Make sure you have your passports and boarding passes ready in hand. At Rhodes airport it is known when at busy times there might be some queues. Having documents ready will help the process move more quickly.
Once you have checked in, you head upstairs to the security area.
Make sure you have all your liquids in the plastic bag for your hand luggage which is provided and also take off any hats, jackets, belts or even boots to speed up the process.

Please make sure you are listening for any announcements for your flight and checking the boards constantly for any up dates.
Also bear in mind that once you have passed through security and you enter into the area with all the shops and cafes, you will possibly have to go through an immigration passport check before you get to your gate. Make sure you are leaving plenty of time to do this too!
Once all of this is done, you will then board your plane home!

You are more likely to experience showers or cloud during May, June, September and October although these tend to be fleeting and the temperature remains warm.

The sea here in resort is extremely clean and the beach is sandy and has a low slope gradient making swimming conditions perfect.
Please be aware that there are no life guards on any of the beaches in Pefkos.
Again, this is down to personal preference. Almost certainly in July and August you will need AC. However some people prefer to open windows or use a fan if provided. It is unlikely that you will need AC in May or October as the weather is much more bearable and we experience some breezes which help to cool things down.
